Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes the Red Devils were not good enough in their defeat to Spurs and questioned Mason Mount’s decision to start ahead of Alejandro Garnacho.
“A disastrous season, ended in defeat but I don’t think Man United did enough to win the title either. “
Man United didn’t have the clinical edge. The constant pressure, the goalkeeper (Guilmo Vicario) only made one save all game. You can’t expect to win titles when you don’t have that much threat.”

“Ruben Amorim brought Mason Mount in through the middle but we didn’t have anybody who made runs through the defence. “
Garnacho has been doing that all season. You can say he’s not a clinical finisher but he’s a real threat and he’s pulling people back, and we didn’t see that in this game that Spurs’ defence was pressed in that way.”
The United legend also believes the return of Spurs’ defenders is another point in Spurs’ regaining their strength at the
back. “It’s important for this team to have those defenders back, Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven want to protect the penalty area. “
They’re not bothered by Harry Maguire coming in, they enjoy the fight. They defended with all their might and got what they wanted.”
